Academic Advising Director directs the academic advising department, its processes, and its advisors. Works closely with academic advisors to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken with all students advising needs. Being an Academic Advising Director assists Dean or Associate Dean in the preparation and implementation of department wide goals, procedures, and controls. Analyzes existing goals and programs and recommends improvements. Additionally, Academic Advising Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the associate dean. The Academic Advising Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Academic Advising Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Ignite is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director to lead our Ignite portfolio of defense contracts in Florida. This position plays a crucial role in managing and guiding defense contractors to align with our organization's strategic objectives and operational needs. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of contractor engagement, from selection and onboarding to performance assessment and strategic alignment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Portfolio Management and Strategy
      • Develop and implement strategies for managing a diverse portfolio of defense contractors.
      • Ensure alignment of contractor activities with organizational objectives and defense requirements.
    • Contractor Selection and Onboarding
      • Lead the process of selecting defense contractors that meet specific project and operational needs.
      • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure contractors are fully integrated into relevant projects and initiatives.
    • Performance Management
      • Monitor and evaluate the performance of defense contractors against contractual obligations and organizational goals.
      • Implement performance improvement plans and corrective actions as needed.
    • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
      • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including military leadership, government officials, and defense industry leaders.
      • Facilitate collaboration between defense contractors and internal teams to ensure project success and innovation.
    • Budget and Resource Allocation
      • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and financial performance of the contractor portfolio.
      • Ensure cost-effective management of contractor resources and alignment with financial objectives.
    • Risk Management and Compliance
      • Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractor engagements.
      • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all contractor-related activities.
    • Strategic Leadership
      • Provide strategic leadership to the contractor management team.
      • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in contractor management processes and practices.
    • Communication and Reporting
      • Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all stakeholders.
      • Generate comprehensive reports on portfolio performance, challenges, and strategic opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • Top Secret/SCI Clearance
    • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a field applicable to the Director role.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of the defense industry and its regulatory environment.
