Academic Support Coordinator jobs in Passaic, NJ

Academic Support Coordinator assesses students' academic needs and proficiency, assists them in setting goals, connects them to appropriate resources, and provides ongoing support as needed. Coordinates with faculty advisors and staff to provide and support innovative programs that help students succeed. Being an Academic Support Coordinator coordinates tutoring for any students needing remedial instruction or English as a Second Language assistance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Academic Support Coordinator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Academic Support Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Qualifications:
    • Hold a New Jersey instructional, educational services, or administrative certificate in accordance with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:27.1 et seq., and N.J.A.C. Title 6 Chapter 11.
    • Serve as a currently employed professional member of the district, meeting the requirements for the position held.
    • Hold a valid driver's license with no serious violations.
    • Have excellent experience in teaching and working with adolescents, particularly those in need of disciplinary action.
    • Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
