Academic Support Coordinator assesses students' academic needs and proficiency, assists them in setting goals, connects them to appropriate resources, and provides ongoing support as needed. Coordinates with faculty advisors and staff to provide and support innovative programs that help students succeed. Being an Academic Support Coordinator coordinates tutoring for any students needing remedial instruction or English as a Second Language assistance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Academic Support Coordinator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Academic Support Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Complete assessments to identify the needs and desires of individuals who are intellectually disabled. This will include the use of formal and informal tools to gather information needed to assist the person to identify their needs and wishes. Assist the individuals with developing their Individual Support Plan. Updating the ISP as needed and at least annually. This is to be completed with a person centered approach. Support individuals with identifying the outcomes they need to achieve and assures that the ISP addresses the identified outcomes. Identify other services that will meet the needs of individuals. Resolve any barriers to the delivery of service. This involves knowing a fully array of options and knowing where to learn of others as needs and interest warrant. Monitors the services to assure they are being delivered as planned and that the outcomes that were identified are being achieved. Supervise staff/sponsors to ensure that service delivery is appropriate and company policies are being followed. Implement disciplinary actions as needed. Familiar with the states' CHRIS and WAMS system preferred.
Oversee group home and staff. On rotation for on-call schedule.
Bachelor's Degree in the Human Services field required or 5 years experience performing the duties listed in this position description.
