Account Management Manager manages and develops sales plans for a team of account managers. The Account Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. To be an Account Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. TrueNorth is looking for an Account Manager to join our Risk Management team in our Cedar Rapids, IA office. For the right candidate, we would also consider someone out of our West Des Moines, IA location.


    The Account Manager’s job is to perform duties and maintain quality service that supports our Risk Management accounts, including clients, insurance companies, and producers. This position is responsible for supporting a book of generalist and legacy accounts by managing renewals, marketing accounts, and a large focus on client service.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accurately manage client accounts and ensure all deadlines are met
    • Assist in marketing and placing new business and/or renewal business while maintaining process per workflows
    • Ensure service levels are being met
    • Seek opportunities and take steps to increase knowledge of the industry, regulatory requirements, tools and resources available to assist clients
    • Answer questions from the producer and the service teams regarding accounts
    • Communicate with the clients and answer questions regarding provided policies and/or services
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and carriers, both internal and external
    • Meets with clients as needed or directed by the producer
    • Travel or visit insurance companies and/or clients, when necessary
    • Assist in the creation of materials needed for recurring client meetings
    • Continuously seek to identify opportunities & solutions that allow for more effective and efficient delivery of a top-quality client experience
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for niche and/or industry specialization
    • Coordinate & direct firm resources such as Claims, Legal, Safety, Marketing, and/or Technology, when necessary
    • Manage book of business with a pro-active client service approach
    • Round out coverage for accounts in collaboration with the service team or independently, as assigned
    • Perform other duties as assigned


    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • High School diploma or GED required, two or four-year degree preferred
    • Experience in the insurance industry required
    • Property & Casualty Insurance license required
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions
    • Prior customer service experience required
    • Understand the different processes/forms associated with the varying coverages and insurers
    • Experience working with EPIC Agency Management Software preferred
