The Account Representative pursues relationships with potential new accounts and seeks business expansion opportunities with current clients. Develops relationships with smaller to mid-sized clients in order to increase revenue. Being an Account Representative may support higher-level account managers working with larger accounts. Has detailed knowledge of products and services being offered and ensures that products and services consistently meet client needs. In addition, Account Representative may visit client locations periodically to ensure client satisfaction and promote ongoing contract renewal. Provides sales quotations and responds to requests for proposals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being an Account Representative work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Houston Healthcare patient accounts. Record and generate variety of information pertaining to the patient revenue process. Accurate, high-performance level position requires certain degree of knowledge of complex rules and corresponding ability to apply these rules in the work environment to achieve desired outcomes. Responsible for processing all self-pay and insurance payments via electronic remits and lockbox. Corrects misapplied payments. Distributes petty cash. Balances general ledger daily. Review remits and EOB's for accuracy of posting and adjustments.

    High School diploma or GED equivalent; Two (2) years experience working in hospital access processing payments and making deposits, physician office or billing and collections or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Customer Service experience, both in person and telephone; Must be bondable. Ability to understand hospital bills, insurance plans, medical records, managed care contracts and the Chargemaster. Ability to understand ancillary functions for each of the facility's departments. Strong negotiation and collection skills. Ability to understand insurance terms, (i.e. HMO, PPO, EOB, Remit, Stop Loss, etc). Strong data and organization skills. Ability to communicate orally and in written form. Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to utilize and understand computer technology. Must have basic accounting skills

    Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background and drug screens.
