Account Representative, Sr. jobs in Portland, ME

Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks an Account Rep to join the Survivor Services unit. This customer service work is focused on providing support to employers, members and benefit recipients related to life insurance and survivor benefits.  An employee in this classification must apply knowledge of the survivor services related statutes and regulations to research analyze and provide moderately complex information to a diverse audience.  Basic accounting functions related to accurate billing and payment of premiums are also core components of this work. This includes responsibility to determine member status, group life insurance eligibility, and the variety of benefits available.

Minimum qualifications:  

• High School Diploma plus Four (4) years of related responsible experience that demonstrates solid customer service skills:   good listening and respectful communications; consistency in reviewing and assuring the accuracy of financial and written information prior to distribution; and fidelity to basic accounting principles.  
• Previous work history must include practical experience with basic computer applications.  

Preferred qualification: 

• Associate degree in business, finance, customer service or other related field.

Salary: Begins at $43,763 (if annualized)
