Technical Sales Representative - American Control Electronics
Location: South Beloit, Illinois
The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for sales growth & sales management of assigned group of accounts/markets. Duties include developing and implementing sales & developing and servicing accounts, developing & working directly with OEM’s, distributors and users, and daily operation of all sales related issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Continually increase overall sales revenue within assigned markets and target accounts. Continually identify, quantify, report on and close opportunities for sales growth
- Drive the completion of key activities with channel partners & customers in support of plans
- Coordinate sales product training between the factory, distributors, reps., and OEM’s
- Personally qualify prospects from all sources…web site traffic, channel partners, etc.
- 25-50% overnight travel, nationwide, working independently with little supervision
- Report weekly activity, covering sales calls made (who and where) prior week, project status at active accounts, sales calls SCHEDULED in future week(s), and forecast for assigned areas and accounts
- Recommend and provide justification of new products / opportunities developed from market intelligence
- Maintain professional, technical, and computer knowledge via continuous education
- Maintain professional appearance in all aspects of the work environment
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
Preferred: B.S. E.E.
Experience
Required: None
Preferred: 1-3 years system & consultative sales experience in relevant markets
Special Knowledge/Skills
Required:
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and listening skills as well as negotiation and problem solving ability
- Experienced and comfortable public speaker
- Ability to troubleshoot customer applications and recommend improvements
- Excellent time management, organizational, problem solving & decision making skills
- Computer proficient and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently
- High technical aptitude
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office
