Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed. Do you have an eye for detail and love of accounting? Nelson Mullins’ Accounting Department is seeking an Accountant to join their team in the Columbia office.
*This is an on-site position
You will perform a variety of bookkeeping tasks in the firm’s accounting software and Microsoft Excel. This will include, but will not be limited to, posting manual and imported journal entries, reviewing and reconciling accounts, compiling reports and preparing routine tax filings.
The ideal candidate will maintain a high degree of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data while possessing attention to detail and problem-solving skills. To be successful in this role, effective communication, organizational and time management skills, along with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently will be required.
A 4-year BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university, plus 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience or 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience is a BIG plus!
