Position Overview

The Finance & Accounts team, located in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking an Accountant II. The person in this role will have responsibilities for participating in month end closing, plant internal control policies, productivity saving tracking and more.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in month-end plant closing:
• Prepare all plant journal entries
• Work with NNA accounting to reconcile intercompany accounts
• Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations
• Complete month-end reporting documents as assigned
• Provide detailed analysis of plant OPEX spending to department managers
• Maintain plant internal control policies in accordance with SOX requirements
• Conduct internal audits with regards to plant internal control policies as needed
• Fixed Assets – track projects and validate project savings
• Assist in Productivity Savings tracking
• Complete daily & weekly plant reports as assigned
• Prepare all required forecasts/annual plans
• Participate in plant’s Operating System:
• Active participant in daily meetings
• Participate in assigned items with regards to Coil Coating business
• Prepare AP bank reconciliations

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Experience in manufacturing is desired.
• The ideal candidate will have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with fully integrated software system is desired
• Effective interpersonal communication is imperative whether it is in person, in writing or via telephone.
• Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills are necessary to meet deadlines and maintain documentation.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.

DavenportIA has been a key player in the aluminum industry for over 11 decades.
