Position: Accountant (Construction background)

Shift: 1st shift Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

Pay: $33.65 per hr.

Position may be temp or Temp to hire

Construction contractor in Phoenix, is currently seeking an experienced accounting specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of accounting experience, must be reliable, punctual and motivated.

Experienced preferred with SAGE but we are willing to train.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is looking to learn additional accounting skills through the preparation of financial statements.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for verifying, editing reports to ensure accurate data entry of invoices
• Data entry to SAGE & Excel
• Must have experience with lean wavier
• Processing check run – Data Entry & Mailing.
• Approving final release of check to vendors/supplier
• Submitting waiver to vendors for payment from GC
• Assisting and reviewing the processing of a biweekly payroll
• Reconciliation of year end reports (payroll, sales, w/c audits, g/l audits)
• Assists in month end closing
• Creating budget for Projects – auditing and analyzing reports
• Filing Pre-liminary lien notices
• Analyzing Job Cost Reports
• Assisting with and inputting Project Forecast in Excel
• Assisting with monthly pay application billings to General Contractors
• Other duties will be assigned as the ideal candidate is comfortable with more complex duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• More than five years of accounting experience
• Ability to perform accounting functions using Excel
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages.
• Experience with Microsoft applications
• Professional appearance
• Able to function and contribute in a team-oriented atmosphere
• Able to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimum level of supervision.
