This position is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of accounting experience, a strong background in general ledger accounting, and be able to work flexible hours during peak seasons.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including account reconciliations
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Utilize accounting software to record and maintain financial transactions
- Preparation of financial statements and reports for tax preparation
- Perform bank and brokerage reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Creation of spreadsheets from client provided information
- Preparation of payroll and franchise tax reports
Skills:
- 3 years of current work experience in accounting with a strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks desktop and online
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Capability to work extra hours during peak seasons is a must
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients
- Ability to successfully take initiative, be proactive, meet hard deadlines, multi-task, be organized and manage a heavy workload during peak seasons
- Highly efficient 10 key and data entry skills
- Tax and depreciation knowledge is a plus
