Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. About this opportunity:
Performs advanced and complex clerical accounting/financial functions under supervision, including record keeping and reporting for a multitude of accounts; sets up accounts payable accounts receivable customers and processes all deposits and receipts in compliance with tight deadlines and established guidelines; including but not limited to the invoicing of expenses to other locations, serves as liaison to the corps or outside contacts on a daily basis to provide timely information regarding the status of accounts.
Key responsibilities:
· Performs advanced and complex clerical accounting/financial functions.
· Provide reports for T- Cash & Classy type deposits.
· Enters weekly payable invoices to be paid by check.
What we are looking for in you:
· High School diploma or G.E.D. required; associate degree from a technical or vocational school supplemented by accounting or bookkeeping courses, training preferred.
· Five years’ experience performing progressively responsible accounting and/or bookkeeping work with limited supervision.
· any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.
Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, and heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
