Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE: The controller is the financial manager of the hotel. The position is responsible for short and long term planning and the daily operations of the Controller’s department. Develops and recommends the department’s budget and objectives and manages within those approved plans. Participates in totals hotel management as a member of the hotel’s Executive Committee and is responsible for providing the timely dissemination of reports to management to assist in achieving bottom line results. Consults and clear with the Regional Vice President and Corporate Controller, any accounting transactions or control procedures which are not specifically addressed in the TTH Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual or which required interpretation.

Education: A four year college degree (Accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.
