Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. American Hardwood Industries, located in Waynesboro, VA is seeking an Accounting Clerk. Accounting knowledge, reconciliation skills, and software proficiency are key requirements to be successful in this position.
Responsibilities include product maintenance, inventory control, monthly closing activities, vendor setup and ledger reconciliation. Computer skills are important and proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with a heavy emphasis on Excel, is required. Communication skills are also important as this position works with various departments and locations within the Company as well as external auditors.
An Associate's Degree in accounting or a minimum of four years experience working with a computerized accounting system is required. Qualified candidates having experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus.
