Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Summary of Position:
This is a non-represented position in the Finance Department responsible for coordinating with various
departments in assisting with the distribution of fare products to all riders as needed and for assisting the Chief
Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director of Financial Planning and Analysis with the tracking of product
distribution and availability to ensure adequate supply of products. This position will also assist with various
accounts receivable and payable functions and other day-to-day clerical duties and departmental projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
