The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Management:
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using bookkeeping software and tools.
● Record all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, and revenues.
● Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are promptly addressed.
● Manage cash receipts and disbursements while ensuring proper documentation.
Payroll Processing:
● Process employee payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. ● Maintain records of employee salaries, benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings. ● Prepare and distribute paychecks and electronic fund transfers.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
● Manage accounts payable by verifying and processing invoices, tracking payments, and resolving discrepancies.
● Monitor accounts receivable, send out invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
● Work with internal teams and clients to resolve billing and payment-related issues.
Financial Reporting:
● Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis. ● Assist in preparing financial statements for internal and external audits.
● Provide financial data and reports to management to support decision-making processes.
Compliance and Taxation:
● Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting and tax filings.
● Assist in preparing and filing tax returns and related documentation.
Record Retention and Organization:
● Maintain a well-organized and easily accessible system for financial records and documentation.
● Safeguard confidential financial information and handle sensitive data with utmost discretion.
Financial Analysis and Support:
● Support financial analysis by providing accurate and timely data to the finance team and management.
● Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial queries and provide necessary support.
Other: ● Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
● Strong proficiency in using Quickbooks or other financial management tools.
● Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
● Familiarity with payroll processing and tax regulations.
● Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
● High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams.
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
● State and Federal Background Check are required for this position.
