Accounting Director directs the operations and policies of an accounting function. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial, and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards. Being an Accounting Director monitors and evaluates accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Oversees overall monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. Additionally, Accounting Director develops and directs accounting professionals and supports staff through subordinate managers. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to a head of accounting. The Accounting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Job Overview:
The Accounting Clerk will work within our Sage ERP System to assist receiving in goods, match paperwork, reconcile bank statement, month end accruals, and process all accounts payable for our Ohio and Washington State manufacturing facilities along with our sister organization, ValuTex Reinforcements. We are a medium - size manufacturing company with a lean office staff, so other administrative functions will be added to this role as time allows including maintaining job ads, screening applicants, office organization, financial reporting and other stuff.
Duties:
- Process accounts payable
- Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledgers
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Reconcile bank statements-
- Invoicing for Washington State
- Date Entry
- Problem Solving with vendors
- Back up for Accounts Receivable
Qualifications:
- At least three years of office accounting experience required, accounting education preferred
- Good Written, computer and verbal communications skills required
- Excellent attention to detail is a must
- Ability to work with others including senior management, managers, supervisors, office stuff and operators in the plant
- Must be a self-starter who can identify needs in the organization and envision, communicate and implement solutions
