Accounting Director directs the operations and policies of an accounting function. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial, and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards. Being an Accounting Director monitors and evaluates accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Oversees overall monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. Additionally, Accounting Director develops and directs accounting professionals and supports staff through subordinate managers. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to a head of accounting. The Accounting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Accounting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing accounting and reporting functions at EducationDynamics (EDDY). You will serve as the financial and the strategic partner to the Executive team and department heads to provide insights on financial performance, trends and opportunities for cost efficiencies and revenue enhancement.

    Who You Offer:

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Oversee monthly and annual closings and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Statements.
    • Prepare and distribute Board slides, Lender Reporting Financial Statements, and Internal Business Unit and Departmental Reports.
    • Collaborate with Executive team and Departmental heads to provide insights on financial performance, trends, and opportunities for cost efficiencies and revenue enhancement.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly Covenant compliance calculations and reporting.
    • Prepare and report on US Census data requests.
    • Prepare and review journal entries, while ensuring general activity is processed timely, accurately and in accordance with GAAP, company procedures and other regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure timely reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts.
    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on technical accounting matters.
    • Play an active role in the due diligence, Purchase Accounting, and integration of acquired assets.
    • Serve as the lead person on the audits.
    • Oversee a Staff Accountant.

    Qualifications:

    • CPA Preferred
    • Public Accounting experience preferred
    • 10 – 12 years of relevant accounting close and reporting experience
    • 5 – 6 years of Accounting management experience
    • 5 – 6 years of staff supervision experience
    • Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivables
    • Strong Excel Skills
    • Strong NetSuite Experience
    • Strong understanding of GAAP
