As the Director of Accounting, you’ll lead Americanflat’s accounting department, overseeing a team of accountants, payroll specialists, and financial managers. Your role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial records, monitoring cash flow, and managing expenses and invoices to facilitate timely and efficient payments and collections.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Lead all aspects of financial accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely closure of financial records.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Collaborate in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, adhering to accounting standards and ensuring accuracy.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial data integrity.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Coordinate and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial research processes to support strategic decision-making.
• Financial Analysis: Provide insightful monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analyses, highlighting key performance areas.
• Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and serve as a liaison to external auditors, facilitating audit processes.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the finance function, implementing best practices.
• Tax Compliance: Assist with various tax compliance matters, including income tax, sales tax, and foreign tax filings.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a global team encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting departments, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, management, or a related field. Master is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity.
• Inventory management experience, specifically in e-commerce is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, such as SAP, Netsuite, or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and INDEXMATCH.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance.
• Availability required from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EDT/EST.
