We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for the role of Permanent Director of Accounting in our prestigious Energy company. This role requires a professional with a strong background in accounting, preferably in the energy sector, and a comprehensive understanding of the oil and gas industry. As the Director of Accounting, you will lead our accounting department, oversee financial operations, and ensure our financial functions are organized, efficient, and produce accurate financial results. This role is a permanent position and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our company's financial success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the accounting department to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial data.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting systems and policies.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits.
- Engage in critical and confidential aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, tax planning, and company budget.
- Collaborate with the executive team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations.
- Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities.
- Ensure the company's financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
- Solid experience in risk management and crisis response.
- Proficient in using financial software and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
