Description

Air Treatment Corporation, a growing 100% Employee-Owned HVAC&R Manufacturer Representative Firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to add to the team. The Accounting Manager will plan and direct all accounting activities including maintenance of accounting systems and standards and delivery of key financial management reports.  

Requirements

Supervisory

• Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, accounts payable and payroll.
• Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations.
• Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff. 

Accounting 

• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
• Oversees daily financial and accounting operations within the company.
• Ensure a timely and accurate monthly and year-end close process.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to prepare internal and external financial statements and ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. 
• Oversee Sales Tax preparation, filing, and reporting activities.
• Responsible for daily cash management and reporting.
• Coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audits.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant major.
• 3-5 years or more of related experience required.
• HVAC or similar industry experience – highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
