Accounting Manager manages multiple accounting functions and operations such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, asset, cost, and tax accounting. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental financial and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards. Being an Accounting Manager oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. Evaluates accounting processes and systems and implements optimizations. Additionally, Accounting Manager develops and directs accounting professionals and support staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Job Summary
      • We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of HR and Accounting Manager. This multifaceted position is responsible for overseeing Human Resource functions, managing accounts payable and receivable, handling payroll processes, effectively managing the billing office, and providing administrative and clerical support to the Director. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and human resources, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of these critical business functions. 
    • Key Responsibilities
      • Human Resources
        • Manage and oversee all HR functions, including but not limited to; recruitment, onboarding, performance management, retirement, compensation, and employee relations. 
        • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and HR best practices. 
        • Assist Director in development and implement HR policies and procedures to foster a positive work environment. 
      • Accounting
        • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. 
        • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records via Quickbooks. 
        • Prepare financial reports and statements as required. 
        • Collaborate with external auditors during periodic audits. 
      • Payroll Management 
        • Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner. 
        • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
        • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees. 
      • Billing Office Management
        • Supervise the billing office team and ensure efficient billing processes. 
        • Collaborate with other departments and vendors to resolve billing discrepancies. 
        • Implement improvements to enhance billing effiency and accuracy. 
        • Administer and authorize appropriate collection activities in accordance with practice guidelines. 
        • Monitor all functions related to billing and payment procedures, including the review and processing of all requests for purchases. 
        • Oversee daily operations of the account department, resolve operational problems, and delegate responsibilities. 
      • Administrative and Clerical Support
        • Collaborate with and assist Director by performing clerical duties in support of office functions such as typing, filing, photocopying, faxing, calculating, and other office functions. 
        • Compose and prepare correspondence with correct grammar and punctuation in the proper format, and maintain related files in an organized, accessible manner. 
        • Open and screen incoming mail, distributing it to the appropriate Account Representative for deposit. 
        • Record and distribute Board minutes as required. 
        • Record and distribute montly financial statements to the Director. 
        • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director. 
    • Qualifications 
      • Proven experience in accounting and human resources roles. 
      • Knowledge of accounting principles, payroll processes, and HR best practices. 
      • Strong organizaitonal and multi-tasking abilities. 
      • Excellenct communication and interpersonal skills. 
      • Proficiency in relevant software applicaitons. 
    • Education Requirements
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources or related field. 
      • Equivalent work experience in similar field is acceptable. 
    • Desired Certifications 
      • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification, or receiving said certification within first year of employment. 
      • Quickbooks certification or similar accounting certification within first year of employment.
