Accounting Manager jobs in South Bend, IN
Accounting Manager manages multiple accounting functions and operations such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, asset, cost, and tax accounting. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental financial and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards. Being an Accounting Manager oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. Evaluates accounting processes and systems and implements optimizations. Additionally, Accounting Manager develops and directs accounting professionals and support staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare income statements and balance sheets for various divisions/reporting levels within Quality Dining.

Prepare/verify posting of payrolls, expense allocations and fixed asset activity.

Analyze financial results for accuracy and completeness for various divisions/reporting levels within Quality Dining.

Resolve questions from Operations relative to financial results.

Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
-
Plan, assign and review work of staff accountants including the review of complex journal entries and supporting work-papers.
-
Prepare work-papers and compile documentation for external audits.

Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Position Requirements-
Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university with a strong GPA.

Accounting experience of 2-5 years preferably in a complex corporate environment.

Strong knowledge of and ability to apply intermediate accounting concepts.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work dynamically in a fast-paced team environment.

Strong Excel skills.

Highly detail-oriented and organized.

Superior analytical and problem solving skills.

PeopleSoft or other enterprise-grade system experience a plus.

Fixed asset experience a plus.
