The Position:

The Accounting Manager will undertake all aspects of accounting operations, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development, implementation and enforcement of internal control policies and procedures.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Prepaid Amortization, and Revenue Recognition
• Supervise accounting staff
• Maintain timely and accurate cash projections, accounting for both operational and capital expenditure needs

• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, and prepare timely monthly financial statements for approval
• Coordinate and participate in the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and report variances and provide data to the VP of Finance and Administration.
• Coordinate and maintain accounts receivables collections activity
• Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support. Prepare reports and projections based on financial data. Evaluate current and previous financial data.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as requested, and ensure timely and accurate response to information requests
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Coordinate the preparation of external regulatory reporting
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Search out and implement improvements to accounting processes
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a financial Accounting Manager
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
• Experience creating financial statements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel formulas, pivot tables, and dashboard functions
• Experience with Sage Intacct and Avalara preferred

Education or Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• CPA or CMA preferred

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively
• High level of alertness, concentration, accuracy, and time-management
• Able to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods
