Accounting Manager manages multiple accounting functions and operations such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, asset, cost, and tax accounting. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental financial and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards. Being an Accounting Manager oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. Evaluates accounting processes and systems and implements optimizations. Additionally, Accounting Manager develops and directs accounting professionals and support staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. CAMS (Community Association Management Services), one of the fastest growing community association management companies in the southeastern US, is seeking an Accounting Manager.
The CAMS Accounting Manager is a key operational role within the company. The primary responsibility is to lead a group of accounting professionals and ensure accurate, on-time production of monthly financial reports for community associations contracted with CAMS. The right candidate will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods to ensure consistency and accuracy within the department. The right candidate is also adept at interpersonal interactions and will work closely with Community Managers, key departmental heads, and will help maintain client relationships.
*AR and AP are separate functional areas that do not fall under the Accounting Manager’s supervision
