Accounting Supervisor supervises accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting. Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Being an Accounting Supervisor ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards. Additionally, Accounting Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Join our team as an Accounting Supervisor!
This role provides direction and guidance to five to fifteen employees; evaluates performance of and assists in career development planning for team members and is responsible for local functional process activity, including prompt conversion of accounts receivable to cash. They are responsible for day-to-day decisions within established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Perform periodic self-testing and other review procedures to ensure accounts receivable portfolio status meets internal and external requirements (SOX/Audit.)

Monitor, track, analyze, and report on the collection status of delinquent accounts for team portfolio using existing reports and systems to achieve departmental goals. Recommend improvements as needed, including system updates, process improvements, or personnel changes.
Demonstrates ability to understand and explain measures pertaining to specific processes.
Oversee team’s daily functions, set up of programs, reconciliation of payments received, and collection of amounts owed according to company collection policies.
Supervise and support Pricing Coordinators, Accounting Specialist and Accountant roles, including coaching, timely feedback, and corrective action when necessary while working within established company procedures and policies and local law.
Fully understands the manufacturer chargeback, free goods and discount programs managed thru Vistex/SAP.
Collaborate and liaise with branch personnel to resolve customer inquiries and support collection efforts.
Collaborate and liaise with manufacturers on program setup and collection inquiries, if requested.
Provide customer and branch analytical support for the field and corporate partners, if requested.
Responsible for retaining records according to company retention policy for all transactions/documents related to the manufacturer chargeback, free goods and discounts programs process.

Hold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goals.
Mentor employees, measure performance, and complete regular performance reviews.

Required Qualifications
Four-year degree in business, finance or accounting preferred or demonstrated business knowledge and/or equivalent years of business experience
Supervisory experience
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
Has exceptional organizational, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills and shows a great attention to detail
Analytical, with the ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of information utilizing Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience in a shared service environment
