The Wildland Fire Management Division provides wildland fire assistance to landowners throughout the State of Washington. Forest Fire Protection Assessment Program (FFPA) is a fee paid by private forest landowners and exempt entities (such as counties, cities, non-profits, and state landowners). It covers the cost of preparing to fight wildfires, including purchasing fire engines, training crews, and acquiring equipment. This position will be an integral part of the process by providing fund management assistance, fund reconciliations, and fiscal tracking for the Wildfire Planning & information section.
To be successful in this position you not only need an understanding of state financial systems, but you also need to showcase outstanding customer service skills. This position will consistently be representing the agency when speaking to landowners and the general public and have to be able to adapt to their audiences.
