Accounting Supervisor supervises accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting. Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Being an Accounting Supervisor ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards. Additionally, Accounting Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Summary:
This position is responsible for daily management of the accounting department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Monitor purchase invoices and reconcile with suppliers.
2. Pay invoices as needed and mark as paid in AS400.
3. Set up and maintain current supplier/vendor list.
4. Monitor Sales invoices, reconcile with customers, investigate anomalies, process receipts.
5. Credit control.
6. Monitor accounts past due, contact for payment.
7. Scan and file invoices along with maintenance of Doc Record Storage software.
8. Prepare monthly adjustments, accruals, prepays, depreciation, and other reconciliations as needed.
9. Monitor card usage, analyze and post to nominal.
10. Reconcile and re-value EUR accounts monthly.
11. Provide reports to include financial statements to Italy on a monthly or as needed basis. Including but not limited to:
A. Profit & Loss report.
B. Update monthly annual forecast.
C. Personnel summary report
D. Cash flow projection.
E. Ad hoc reporting.
12. Input payments and receipts.
13. Monthly update exchange rate.
14. Act as liaise with external auditors for quarterly/annual audit.
15. Monitor credit card usage, analyze and post to nominal.
16. Observe account balances and budget.
17. Complies with safety regulations and promotes workplace safety.
18. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
