Accounting Supervisor supervises accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting. Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Being an Accounting Supervisor ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards. Additionally, Accounting Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable Analysts supporting all Bausch Health U.S. and Solta US and Canada business units enforcing internal control standards and maximizing efficiency.
General Functions/Specific Responsibilities
Oversee processing of AP transactions for multiple business
Lead team and projects to support department goals and initiatives
Delegate tasks and responsibilities, determine deadlines, and prioritize work to meet changing demands and volumes
Mentor, develop and train associates
Develop and maintain documentation for accounts payable tasks, Standard Operating Procedures, and training materials.
Establish and maintain metrics for the team including team performance and business process compliance
Ensure that procedures are followed, and internal controls are maintained within all AP processes
Assume additional responsibilities and assist with special projects as needed or directed
Level of Authority: This position deals with highly sensitive and confidential information.
Required Education / Skills / Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and training
5-7 years Supervisory experience preferred
Strong leadership and team motivation skills
Demonstrates willingness and ability to be a self-starter taking the initiative to solve problems
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work both independently and in a group
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Experience with SAP S4 preferred.
Strong time management, organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
Outstanding business relations
