Accounts Payable Clerk jobs in New Haven, CT

Jaci Carroll Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Clerk. This is a full time, contract to hire position with pay depending on prior experience. This position is responsible for managing the financial transactions of the company, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts receivables.

Responsibilities:

• Process and post customer payments to the appropriate accounts
• Prepare and send out invoices to customers
• Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up on outstanding balances
• Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes
• Generate financial reports related to accounts receivable
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions in the accounting system
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and payment collection
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations

Requirements:

• Previous experience in accounts receivable or a related field
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Knowledge of medical collection practices is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction
• Familiarity with governmental accounting regulations such as SOX compliance
• Ability to analyze financial data and perform basic financial calculations
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
• Ability to negotiate payment terms with customers when necessary
• Understanding of debits, credits, and basic accounting principles
• Experience in telemarketing or customer service is beneficial but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
