Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all invoices and payments, while maintaining compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and internal policy, and applying appropriate internal controls to safeguard the assets of the organization. Essential Functions
Process all vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment. Initiate payment runs including ACH, Wires, Checks (warrants). Assist with year-end 1099 reporting and filing. Manage and reconcile the corporate credit card, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Assist with month-end close related to vendor statement reconciliation and accruals. Maintain accurate and complete records of all accounts payable transactions. Provide support to other members of the finance team as needed. Effectively utilizes Finance/Accounts Payable Software. Actively contribute to the achievement of Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities. Complete all mandatory learning requirements in a timely manner. Maintain current licensure and/or certification as required. Attend and actively participate in all department, team and/or committee meetings. Comply with all Skagit Regional Health, department and location specific policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by Controller or designee.
Education
High School graduate or equivalent, required. Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
Experience/Training
3 years of experience in accounts payable in a high-volume environment is preferred. Understanding of Public Entity industry regulations and compliance requirements, preferred. Experience using Infor Cloud Suite in a high-volume accounts payable environment, highly desired. Previous continuous quality improvement and team training is preferred.
License/Certifications
None required.

Must have a basic understanding of cash management, auditing, and general accounting principles and processes assigned to their team. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written are required. Presents a professional demeanor, and encourage participation and collaboration in an open approachable style with all customers. Must be proactive in manner and work habits, highly organized, and respond in an accurate and timely fashion to data requests. Needs to have basic analytical/problem solving skills in order to assess problems quickly and develop scenarios for solutions. Must have a proven history of working effectively under time constraints while managing multiple projects at one time. Needs to have solid judgement, and take personal responsibility and ownership of all work performed. Must enjoy working with numbers and be willing to be cross-trained for multiple functions.
