    POSITION SUMMARY:
    This position will assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer in the financial management of the Supreme Court and its programs. This position will also supervise personnel involved in the day-to-day management of diverse court-wide finance-related duties.

    Additionally, this position will develop and maintains accounting, budgeting, internal control and financial policies and procedures for the Financial Office. Serve as a New World Accounting System Administrator and performs periodic system balancing and year-end closing functions. Work with the General Accounting Office and the Auditor General's Office to properly record and control financial operations, and review payables transactions, contracts, purchase requests, encumbrances, and supporting documentation for coding, propriety, and completeness prior to approval/posting.

    This position will also work with Division Directors and Program Managers to implement Financial Office procedures and assist in specifying and integrating program and court financial procedures within the Financial Office. Provide technical assistance to Division Directors, Program Managers and Budget Analysts in financial and budgetary management of assigned programs. Develop and maintains various proforma budget, cash flow and cost analysis worksheets, and conduct periodic training sessions for Supreme Court employees on the New World Financial System.

    After an initial period of at least three months in person, this position may offer the ability to work remotely up to two days per week, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

    Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program qualified employer.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and five years professional accounting experience, including some supervisory experience. Additional years of experience may substitute for degree requirement. Knowledge of GAAP, auditing standards and internal control procedures.

    Additionally, this position required the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, interact effectively and professionally with AOC and ADJC staff, contract providers, and stakeholders, and must have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and inquiries effectively. This position also requires the ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, plan, prioritize and organize work, prepare documentation for procedures and policies, and work effectively with others.

    The preferred candidate will have knowledge of the State of Arizona and Arizona Supreme Court financial policies, procedures, processes, and administrative orders.
