Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst analyzes accounts payable/receivable activities to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Maintains and reconciles the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledger to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst utilizes AP/AR data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvements or cost savings. Generates reports to bring insight into collections, account ages, and other relevant metrics and relays conclusions to management. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and collections or payments. Analyzes customer credit history, determines credit risk, and recommends credit limits and payment terms. May recommend improvements to accounts payable/receivable processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. High volume dealership looking for a motivated individual to assist with Accounts Payable and other office task as deemed necessary by management.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes and processes accounts payable in a timely manner.
- Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
- Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email.
- Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices.
- Prepares check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
- Reconciles various accounts on a monthly basis, bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the Controller.
- Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
- Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
- Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.
Position Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or Finance is ideal but not necessary.
- 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow up on pending issues.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in high paced demanding environments.
