Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an organization's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Ensures transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk creates and distributes invoices to customers and verifies, records, and posts payments received. Reviews purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed and records and processes payments for debts owed by the organization. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk responds to customer or vendor inquiries regarding payments or billing and researches and resolves discrepancies. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable and receivable ledger accounts. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities:
· Cost code and accurately enter all incoming invoices
· Compile and maintain accounts payable records
· Pay invoices via wire transfer, credit card, and/or check in an efficient and timely manner
· Keep track of all subcontractors’ progress billings
· Run A/P reports for reconciliations of general ledger accounts and project budgets
· Process and record online payments
· Prepare monthly billings for the President’s review process
· Archive all accounts payable documents annually
· Develop more efficient ways to dial-in accounts payable such as use tax, etc.
· On occasion, assist other areas, if/when available
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and bookkeeping
- Proficiency in using accounting software for data entry and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices and payments
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Familiarity with payroll processes is a plus
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles is an advantage
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and internal stakeholders
