Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an organization's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Ensures transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk creates and distributes invoices to customers and verifies, records, and posts payments received. Reviews purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed and records and processes payments for debts owed by the organization. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk responds to customer or vendor inquiries regarding payments or billing and researches and resolves discrepancies. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable and receivable ledger accounts. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. General Description:
This position performs a variety of simple to moderately complex payable processes which include the generation of vendor and payroll checks and reconciliation of related reports. The work is performed under the supervision of a Finance Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, and at least three (3) years payable related experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
