Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager manages the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of an organization to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Reviews and evaluates the accounts payable and receivable registers to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager monitors account aging reports, identifies delinquent accounts, and refers accounts to collection agencies. Verifies customer credit limits and applicable payment terms. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager designs and implements standard policies and procedures to ensure accurate and compliant financial records. Audits methods and procedures of the accounts payable and receivable functions to improve efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Essential Functions:

    • Manages Accounts Payable staff including Accounts Payable Associate and Administrative staff
    • Provides training and coaches staff on job responsibilities
    • Review current policies and procedures and modify if necessary
    • Structures and organizes the duties of staff for highest level of efficiency
    • Monitors the consistency and volume of output of staff
    • Ensures high degree of data entry accuracy is maintained by staff
    • Verifies proper approvals are obtained on vendor bills prior to entry
    • Performs reconciliations of vendor ledgers
    • Maintains professionalism with vendor relations
    • Prioritizes the handling of emergency payables
    • Verifies accuracy of expense coding of vendor bills
    • Works in tandem with Accounting staff on expense classifications
    • Recognizes and ensure the correct coding and posting of prepaid expenses
    • Demonstrates good communication skills
    • Performs duties as a team player

    Computer Skills:

    • Demonstrates proficiency in:
    • MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word
    • Yardi Voyager (helpful, but not required)
    • Quickbooks (helpful, but not required)

    Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification

    • AA degree in accounting, finance, or business required
    • BS degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred)
    • 5-15 years of relevant accounts payable management experience, preferably in a growth environment
