Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager jobs in Cedar Rapids, IA

Hawkeye Electric is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join their growing company. Their looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and professional individual who wants to make a difference in the work they do while being part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Manages, trains and supervises the accounts payable department and staff in the organization.
• Manages functions with accounts payable following accounting standards within the accounting software.
• Ensures that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensures that the accounts payable and the company s financial obligations are met timely/efficiently.
• Oversees all tax-related processes, including sales tax/exemptions and 1099 tax information.
• Keep track of the company s financial expenditures, maintain a database and provide reports as and when requested by supervisors.
• Oversee payment transactions such as ACH, wires, paper checks and so on.
• Will be in charge of data entry, validation, and processing of various types of invoices like general overhead, subcontractor, and employee travel reimbursements.
• Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts.
• Keeps track of the status of all transactions taking place within the company and external vendors and contractors, including Certificates of Insurance.
• Standardize procedures to generate efficiency in-house and create internal templates to be used by the company.
• Be active on the customer service front and be quick and accurate with communication.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Associate s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration and a min of 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required with the ability to work under tight deadlines
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and maintain confidentiality as well as treat everyone with dignity, courtesy and respect
• Must be an effective team player and be able to demonstrate and encourage the values of collaboration
• Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues at all levels
• Capable of working independently and under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions
• Proven ability to think creatively and strategically
