Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in double entry bookkeeping and corporate accounting. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of our company, including invoicing, collections, and general ledger reconciliation. This is a vital role within our organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Generate and send customer invoices
- Process customer payments and apply them to appropriate accounts
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer inquiries or issues
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Adhere to company policies and procedures

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Ceridian, Paychex)
- Familiarity with payroll management systems (e.g., Kronos)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of general ledger reconciliation processes
- Understanding of tax regulations related to accounts receivable
- Experience with debits and credits in a corporate accounting setting
- Previous experience in public accounting is a plus
