Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts payable function. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Being an Accounts Payable Supervisor prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings and relays the conclusions to management. Implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and compliance with accounting policies. Additionally, Accounts Payable Supervisor investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Payable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Responsible for analyzing and improving the Accounts Payable system and work processes. Supports the Accounts Payable Manager in improving A/P work processes, system configuration design and testing, account reconciliation for audit and tax reporting, coordination with the Supply Chain processes and ad hoc reporting. Provides leadership, guidance and support to A/P staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelors degree plus 3 years job related experience or 7 years job related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Familiarity with Lawson Financial systems and tables preferred.
