Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts payable function. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Being an Accounts Payable Supervisor prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings and relays the conclusions to management. Implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and compliance with accounting policies. Additionally, Accounts Payable Supervisor investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Payable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Position Overview:

     

    We are seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team! The role is accountable for day-to-day accounting functions specializing in accounts payable duties. You will also assist in the preparation of financial statements and information for tax accountants, as well as various other duties. The ideal candidate will exhibit good business judgment and acumen and be both confident and flexible in their views.  This position will require the ability to work with multiple business units to acquire operational knowledge and execute departmental initiatives.  Demonstrated ability in an Accounts Payable role as well as interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required. This role is a critical component to the company's success and financial health.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performs Accounts Payable functions including invoicing, manual check application, aging reports, and account reconciliation
    • Enters routine journal entries and bank transactions
    • Enters AP bills and credit card transactions if needed
    • Performs month-end closing and reconciliation
    • Reconciles, investigates, corrects, and adjusts accounting information
    • Performs bank reconciliation
    • Supports department peers as needed

    • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Combinations of Training and Experience 
    • 2 years of accrual basis accounting working experiences including accounts payable, journal entries, month-end closing and reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
    • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization
    • Demonstrates ability to successfully plan, organize and manage projects
    • Detail-oriented, excellent proofreading and editing skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, organized, able to prioritize and work independently.
    • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    • Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is based.
    • Must be willing to submit up to a LEVEL II background and/or security investigation with a fingerprint.  Job offers are contingent on background/security investigation results.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
