Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts payable function. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Being an Accounts Payable Supervisor prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings and relays the conclusions to management. Implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and compliance with accounting policies. Additionally, Accounts Payable Supervisor investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Payable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Supervisor will report to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for all activities in the accounts payable function which includes ensuring timely payments of vendor invoices and expenses while maintaining accurate records and control reports. Additionally, this role includes people management and is responsible for the day-to-day performance and ensuring project and department milestones are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage day to day AP operations including vendor management, invoice and payments and processing and employee expense reimbursements.
Lead and coach a team of 2 direct reports
Support multiple departments cross functionally.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for AP including reconciliations, flux explanations and journal entries.
Support and execute tax filings and audit.
Help identify, drive, and implement process improvements.
Ensure accounts payable operations comply with company policies and internal controls.
Manage, coordinate, and support special projects as needed.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables, etc)
Ability to multitask and organize with exceptional detail.

5 years of accounting experience
2 years of supervisory and people management experience
