SUMMARY:
To provide direct assistance to the Senior/Lead Accountant for financial statement preparation and various other finance functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The accounts payable specialist manages and processes all bills and invoices. They are in charge of making payments to vendors, employees, tax authorities and anyone else the casino owes money to. They also assist in the reconciliation of accounts and keep track of the organization’s financial transactions. The accounts payable clerk typically works in an office setting and reports to a Senior Accountant. Serves as a back-up for the Internal Revenue Clerk during emergencies and vacations. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Comptroller.
Employee shall comply with all BSA/AML regulations, reporting, and training requirement. Specifically, those in the Grand River Casino Written System of Internal Controls (and its appendices) for BSA/AML Compliance.
PREREQUISITES
GENERAL:
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must qualify for a Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Key License.
Must have 20/20 corrected vision
EDUCATION:
High school graduate, GED or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least a high school diploma or GED certificate.
An Associates Degree in Accounting (or related field) is preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Six months of experience in the accounting field or related position is preferred.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must have knowledge of spread sheets, Excel preferred.
One year of experience of working with computers or formal training on computers preferred.
