Job Summary
Columbus State University has an opening for an Accounts Receivable Representative in the Bursar's Office. This is a customer-focused position. The Office of the Bursar is the Accounts Receivable office for the University and our customers include students and their families, staff, faculty, and other members of the community.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides customer services using various means of communication.
- Verifies and receipts invoice payments and departmental deposits.
- Prepares bank deposits and balances cash drawer.
- Issues, clears, and reimburses petty cash.
- Data entry for approved Nelnet payment plans and/or Letters of Authorization.
- Maintains University receipt book control and/or daily work filing.
- Reports scholarship checks received to Financial Aid for depositing and awarding.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree in an accounting related field and two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (banking, cashiering, bookkeeping); the ability to use standard office equipment, such as fax, copier, calculator and desk-top computer; and be able to effectively and courteously serve a varied customer base while complying with established accounting policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner and PeopleSoft is a plus.
Proposed Salary
The annualized salary range for this position is $24,882 - $25,000 and includes full benefits.
