    As the Director, Nursing Hospice, the work you do every day makes a difference in the lives of our patients by assuming ultimate accountability and leadership for the assessment of the patient condition and plan of care. The Director of Nursing provides oversight for case management, clinical care and is responsible for coordination all clinical disciplines involved in providing quality, cost-effective and billable care through direct care and supervision of care under the direction of the physician. The DON provides direct supervision to field staff and internal clinical support functions to achieve clinical excellence outcomes, regulatory compliance, patient, and employee satisfaction, in a fiscally responsible manner.

    HOW YOU'LL WORK:
    You'll provide oversight of the coordination of all clinical disciplines involved in providing quality, cost-effective billable care under the direction of the physician.

    MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
    Leadership/Development: Directly supervise the clinical staff, all disciplines who provide direct patient care, and the internal clinical support teams regarding day-to-day patient activities, clinical issues and concerns.
    Outcomes: Monitor patient trends and outcomes for the agency.
    Communication: Interact with individuals (internal clinical teams, patient family member, physician, etc.) as applicable via phone, email and/or face to face concerning patient care.
    Customer Service: Work with Clinical leaders to ensure patient and employee satisfaction and resolution of issues and concerns.
    Policies: Assume accountability for policies/procedures, documentation, and clinical charting practices in accordance with agency protocol and Medicare/Federal/State guidelines.

    HARD & SOFT SKILLS:
    Excellent communicator with the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
    Ability to identify a situation and handle it with the best possible solution.
    Ability to create positive impressions and maintain effective communication with a variety of people.
    Attention to detail is critical, as is being observant and ability to manage multiple projects.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    This position requires a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
    A minimum of three years of experience as a RN in hospice or related health programs
    A minimum of one year of supervisory or administrative experience in hospice, or related health programs
    Knowledge of guideline governing hospice agencies
    Valid driver's license and auto insurance
    Capable of all physical demands
