Actuarial Fellow utilizes statistical analysis and modeling to assess and manage risk and estimate financial outcomes. Compiles, prepares, and analyzes data to develop statistical models, probability tables, and actuarial studies and evaluate the likelihood and financial impact of various risks. Being an Actuarial Fellow assists with product design and development by analyzing risk groups and calculating appropriate insurance rates, premium levels, and rating systems and structures. Records and tracks accruals, claims, and settlements and prepares documents for input into regulatory filings, financial budgets, forecasts, and other financial projections. Additionally, Actuarial Fellow applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA). Typically reports to a manager. To be an Actuarial Fellow typically requires 12+ years of related experience. Achievement and depth of knowledge of specialization or field is the main differentiator. Advisory role on complex and challenging projects and initiatives.     Here's a summary of responsibilities:

    The Strength & Conditioning Fellow will work as part of the Sport Performance team at the Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, under the direction of the Strength & Conditioning Coach, by assisting in the Strength & Conditioning facility's everyday operations. This includes helping with performance programs, training for athletes, and supervising the facility and equipment.

    Here's how you'll have an impact:

    Facility Operations

    • Monitor and supervise the strength and conditioning facility, including opening and closing duties.
    • Ensure the disinfecting and cleanliness of the training areas and equipment of the strength and conditioning facility at the CSOPTC, according to USOPC protocols.
    • Assist with scheduling and supervising resident athletes and junior and national team training camps.
    • Keep accurate records of weight room usage and access.
    • Maintain daily upkeep of facility and equipment.
    • Manage the strength and conditioning facility when the Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach are traveling or away.
    • Participate in roundtables and continuing education with Strength & Conditioning Staff.

    Sport Performance

    • Provide top-level performance services to assist athletes in training at the Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (CSOPTC).
    • Assist in implementing and supervising strength, speed, and conditioning programs for elite athletes training at the CSOPTC.
    • Aid in conducting performance testing and monitoring of athletes, including collection, analysis, and interpretation of results.
    • Work with USOPC Strength & Conditioning coaches to provide athletes coverage while the staff is traveling. Develop and maintain a solid understanding of each coach's programming style and expectations for implementation. Report back to coaches on sessions and have the trust to adjust as needed.
    • Provide athlete-specific training plans for assigned athletes and teams.
    • Teach, instruct, and spot athletes effectively on proper strength training and Olympic weightlifting techniques.
    • Establish and maintain professional relationships with OPTC Operations, USOPC Sports Performance, NGBs, and other stakeholders.

    Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

    • Bachelor's degree in exercise or sport science or equivalent work experience
    • One of the nationally recognized certifications in strength and conditioning:
      • Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association: Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
      • National Strength & Conditioning Associate: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
      • USA Weightlifting: Level 1
    • 1-2 years of strength and conditioning experience
    • Experience in conducting and analyzing sport performance testing
    • Ability to effectively teach and demonstrate proper exercise technique in weight training and speed development
    • Demonstrated capacity to work well in team environments with representatives from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively present to groups of varying sizes
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment
