Actuarial Fellow utilizes statistical analysis and modeling to assess and manage risk and estimate financial outcomes. Compiles, prepares, and analyzes data to develop statistical models, probability tables, and actuarial studies and evaluate the likelihood and financial impact of various risks. Being an Actuarial Fellow assists with product design and development by analyzing risk groups and calculating appropriate insurance rates, premium levels, and rating systems and structures. Records and tracks accruals, claims, and settlements and prepares documents for input into regulatory filings, financial budgets, forecasts, and other financial projections. Additionally, Actuarial Fellow applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA). Typically reports to a manager. To be an Actuarial Fellow typically requires 12+ years of related experience. Achievement and depth of knowledge of specialization or field is the main differentiator. Advisory role on complex and challenging projects and initiatives.     The GGAF Ackerman Center is currently recruiting a 1-year Postdoctoral Fellow specializing in assessment of neurodevelopmental disabilities with children, adolescents, and young adults. As a non-profit specialty medical center, GGAF Ackerman Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive clinical services, resources, education, research, and advocacy for the development of meaningful solutions. Our goal is to provide better outcomes individuals, families, and our community as it relates to living with a neurodevelopmental condition.

    The Postdoctoral Fellow will be primarily responsible for conducting evaluations for patients aged 2 to 20 years old referred through the Autism Treatment Assistance Program (ATAP). This opportunity provides fellows with a deep understanding of the neurodiversity within autism spectrum disorders, including broad exposure to assessing, identifying, and providing differential diagnosis for a wide range of co-occurring conditions, such as other neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., intellectual disabilities, language disorders, learning disabilities, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, genetic syndromes, prenatal alcohol or drug exposure), medical/neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy, cerebral palsy, gastrointestinal difficulties), and/or mental health concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, etc.). The assessment process includes, but is not limited to clinical interview, neuropsychological testing administration and scoring (cognitive, language, academic, behavioral, adaptive, executive functioning), autism spectrum disorder assessments, observations, parent feedback session, and integrated report writing.

    · Gain experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals with the goal of identifying and treating any symptoms or conditions that may be impacting functioning, including:

    o Developmental behavioral pediatricians, pediatric neurologists, geneticists, nurse practitioners, speech/language pathologists, board certified behavior analysts, social workers.

    · Acquire skills to operate within a neuropsychological team, including working with testing assistants (e.g., psychometricians).

    · Participate in community outreach, advocacy, awareness, parent/professional trainings, and fundraising events.

    · Take part in monthly prenatal drug and alcohol multidisciplinary clinics.

    · Additional experiences in treatment and/or diagnostic teams will be determined based on the fellow’s training needs and goals.

    · We utilize in-person and telehealth to collaboratively work with families.

    Fellowship details:

    · Salaried position with a Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm schedule.

    · Register with the Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners as a Psychological Assistant and have intention of becoming a Licensed Psychologist

    · Preparation time and support for the national and state psychological examinations (EPPP and Nevada State Examination).

    · Applicants should have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in psychology from an APA Accredited Program or equivalent and completed an approved doctoral internship.

    · Applicants should have prior clinical experience with assessment measures and evaluation of neurodevelopmental disorders with children and adolescents.
