Actuarial Services Director directs the activities of an organization's actuarial function. Oversees the analysis and evaluation of potential risks to determine the financial impacts of new or existing insurance plans. Being an Actuarial Services Director develops policies, procedures, and formulas to guide statistical analysis and actuarial research and evaluate the likelihood and financial impact of various risks. Designs processes and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance of products and financial operations. Additionally, Actuarial Services Director leads the design and development of insurance products by evaluating and approving insurance rates, premium levels, and rating systems and structures. Oversees the preparation of actuarial reports, financial statements, and regulatory filings and develops financial budgets, forecasts, and other financial projections. Researches and selects major rating assumptions to support accurate statistical analysis and evaluates the effectiveness of existing formulas. Evaluates product performance against established profitability targets and recommends modifications. Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA). May require Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA). Typically reports to senior management. The Actuarial Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Job Description: This role isresponsible for the Chemung County Crisis Program operation and direct oversight of crisis staff. Opportunities for flexibility with schedule, including the possibility of a four-day work week, dependent on the needs of the program. They will work with a team that is responsible for providing coverage to respond to on-site and community-based requests for crisis intervention and follow-up services for Chemung County Crisis Program based at Family Services of Chemung County.
Responsibilities:
· Review of crisis contact notes and risk assessments. Send all Schuyler County crisis contact reports to Schuyler County Mental Health within 24 hours or next business day. Review and completion of monthly crisis statistics.
· Prioritize development of plans of care with individual in association with all community providers, family, and collateral support identified by and for the individual. Completion of referrals to community resources and clinical services.
· Complete all program, agency, and community-based training.
Requirements: Applicants are expected to possess a current NYS licensure as an RN, LMSW, or LMHC and a minimum of one-year progressive supervisory experience in a social service setting.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, be operationally focused, a systems thinker, problem solver, able to plan and strategize for programmatic growth, develop and implement programmatic policies and procedures. Strong writing and clinical skills are a must. Must be organized, detailed oriented, able to respond quickly to programmatic/community/individual needs while concurrently managing several projects with different timelines and objectives.
