Actuarial Services Director directs the activities of an organization's actuarial function. Oversees the analysis and evaluation of potential risks to determine the financial impacts of new or existing insurance plans. Being an Actuarial Services Director develops policies, procedures, and formulas to guide statistical analysis and actuarial research and evaluate the likelihood and financial impact of various risks. Designs processes and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance of products and financial operations. Additionally, Actuarial Services Director leads the design and development of insurance products by evaluating and approving insurance rates, premium levels, and rating systems and structures. Oversees the preparation of actuarial reports, financial statements, and regulatory filings and develops financial budgets, forecasts, and other financial projections. Researches and selects major rating assumptions to support accurate statistical analysis and evaluates the effectiveness of existing formulas. Evaluates product performance against established profitability targets and recommends modifications. Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA). May require Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA). Typically reports to senior management. The Actuarial Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Director VIII – Outpatient Services
This position will be located at our Administration office in Dothan, Al
Work hours of this position are Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. This position will require on-call status, weekend and/or holiday work and a flexible work schedule.
Some travel may be required within the 5 County Catchment Area and outside the catchment area on occasion.
POSITION SUMMARY/FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for directing the county clinic directors, ACT Team and Case Management Services in the Mental Illness and Substance Abuse Divisions of SpectraCare. This includes organization, administration, fiscal and budgetary aspects. Travel within the five county catchment area will be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
1. Supervise the County Clinic Directors, ACT Team Director, and Case Management Services in the Mental Illness/Substance Abuse Division.
2. Oversee consumer record management and responsible for staffing cases and providing clinical supervision (treatment issues, etc).
3. Provide clinical training as needed to staff for enhancement of clinical services.
4. Monitor budgets of clinics and day treatment programs, working with staff to insure budget needs are met.
5. Develop and monitor a productivity monitoring system for clinicians.
6. Assist with staff supervision.
7. Assist with crisis intervention as needed.
8. Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.
9. Regular attendance with timely arrival and departure.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in psychology or related field with completion of a clinical practicum
Minimum of two years post master clinical experience required
Must possess a License of Professional Counseling (LPC, etc)
Minimum two years management/supervisory experience required.
Possess a valid Driver License with good MVR.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years post master clinical experience preferred.
Five years management/supervisory experience preferred.
