Adjustment Clerk reviews and follows up on customer complaints regarding account balances and uncredited items. Analyzes associated documents and makes necessary adjustments to accounts and/or recommendations to resolve customer issues. Being an Adjustment Clerk communicates results of findings to customer. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Adjustment Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Adjustment Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Duties:
Education and Experience Minimum high school education or equivalent. Prior managed care or medical group experience preferred. MA Certificate preferred. Some college business courses a plus. Must be able to use basic office equipment. Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 codes preferred. Must have excellent customer service skills.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Word Processing software, database software, spreadsheet and Internet software
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: Office setting in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Physical Demands: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs. Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
