Administrative Services Director plans and directs the operations of an organization's staff and service functions. Oversees various internal service functions that typically include administrative/office, financial operations, facility maintenance/space planning, security, hospitality services, equipment and supply procurement, vendor management, and others. Being an Administrative Services Director monitors capital and operating budget spending. Designs and implements processes and policies that support efficient service delivery and meet the organization's changing needs. Additionally, Administrative Services Director sets departmental performance goals and standards of service. Utilizes data analytics to measure activity and drive continuous improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Administrative Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Nature of Work
In the Department of Human Services, Bureau for Family Assistance, Finance Division. This position directly supervises district financial clerks (accounting technicians) within region two. The Administrative Services Assistant 2 position will provide support and training, manage leave requests and staff evaluations, oversee and process the purchasing of goods and services, review and process incoming travel reimbursement request, and review all p-card charges made by BFA card holders. This position will also compile various financial reports, as well as provide assistance to BFA management staff with district expenditures, vendor issues, payment questions/issues, or questions that may pertain to, or involve financial, travel policies, or employee reimbursements.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from an accredited college or university. Preference may be given to candidates with a major in the area of public or business administration, accounting, industrial relations, communications or related field.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in a technical or professional position providing administrative services such as accounting, budgeting, project monitoring and reporting, personnel, or procurement and property.
